Aurangabad, March 22:
A woman sent a message to a police officer on his mobile phone stating that she is fed up of frequent torture from family members for the past ten years and hence she is committing suicide. She then switched off her phone. The Pundliknagar police then searched the house of the woman. They found that a quarrel was going on in the house. The police counseled the woman and restricted her from committing suicide. The police warned her family members and then handed her over to her sister.
The woman lives with her husband, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and mother-in-law in a housing society in Beed By-pass Road area. She sent a message to the API of Pundliknagar police station, Ghansham Sonawane, that she is mentally tortured by her in-laws frequently and her husband is not involved. She is fed up with torture, and she is committing suicide.
API, Sonawane, took serious note of the message and searched the house of the woman. He and Constable Imran Attar went there and found that the people in the house were quarreling loudly. The complainant woman had closed herself in the room, and her children were crying as she was not opening the door. The police asked her to open the door, and then she said that her family members are constantly torturing her for petty reasons. Then PSI Meera Chavan counseled her and restricted her from committing suicide.
Sonawane warned the family members and told that severe legal action will be taken against them. Later, they assured the police that they would not torture her anymore. She then gave up the decision to commit suicide, the police said.
