The Jain International School has not given online unit test and regular classes link to students over non-payment of fee.
Parents of such children reached the school on Tuesday and requested the school administration to make available daily online classes and unit test link.
There was heated exchange of words between angry parents and the school principal. Both parents and school administration were firmed on their stand until this afternoon.
Sandip Chandiwal, Radhakishan Palve and Ashok Shinde told this newspaper that they are ready to pay the fee as per the norms of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
“The school should give a receipt of tuition or other fees charged. The financial condition of parents is not good due to lockdown being imposed to contain the spread of Novel coronavirus. Students should not be affected by this,” they said.
The parents have complained that the stationery kit which is available at Rs 2,000 in the market being forced them to purchase at Rs 4,700 at the school. They said that students are disturbed as they cannot appear for the unit test.
Another parent Vibha Shukla said that those students who did not pay the fee were not given online classes and test link.
“Students should not deprive of education and examination due to fee.
We will not pay the fee if the school does not reduce it and cooperate with the parents,” Vibha said.
Commenting on this, school principal P Santosh Kumar said that the school has 1500 students.
“Online classes were started from April end. Less than 100 students paid fee since then. A total of Rs 5,500 fee was reduced in May after student and parents committee members demanded this. Even after requests made several times, parents are not ready to pay the fee,” he said.
Principal Kumar said that most of them (parents) had not paid even last academic year’s fee.
“Parents bring new political leaders every time to create chaos and tarnish the image of the school. How to pay salary to teachers and run the school without a fee? He questioned.
He said that the Education Department of the Zilla Parishad was already informed about it. “No additional fee like food and transport charges, were not levied. An arrangement of online software for the test was made. The link was not delivered to those who have not paid. The daily classes link is being sent to the students,” he added.
