Aurangabad, May 29:

The teachers from the district appear confused over the internal assessment of SSC students as practical and theory papers were not carried out.

It may be noted that the State Government cancelled the 10th standard examinations because of Covid 19 spread. The decision about how to prepare the result without the examinations was taken on Friday. The result will be prepared on the basis of 50 per cent weight to 9th standard result and 50 pc on internal assessment of 10th class. A total of 30 marks were given for internal written assessment, while 20 marks for homework, oral and practical test.

Teachers are confused as there is no clear instruction to call students to the school or not for the submission of homework. There are 1068 schools with 73,249 SSC students. The SSC classes were held online in the district in the beginning. The actual classes commenced in rural areas while city, it was December.

The teachers are finding it difficult to do an internal assessment of students who attended the actual classes for a very short time. The students did not get much homework because of lockdown, what they would submit to the school is a question before them.

Anil Deshmukh, a headmaster, said that students, parents and teachers had found a way for internal assessment.

“The students will get marks on the basis of 9th class result which was prepared on the basis of internal assessment last year due to pandemic situation. It would have been better had we received more clearer instructions,” he added.

Sanjay Nalawade, a teacher, said that students are ready as they were given homework when they attended actual classes. “Students can submit their homework notes books if permission is given,” he added.

Some students said that they had attended online classes, but they do not have homework for online learning. “The notebooks of actual classes are ready. We will submit the homework in school if permitted,” he said. They said that the result should be announced as early as possible to reduce students stress.
