India is currently dealing with a devastating second Covid-19 wave that has swept through the nation, crushing the country's health infrastructure and overburdening frontline medical workers.

To control the rising covid cases in Nashik district, the District Disaster Management Authority has announced a strict lockdown of 10-day from May 12 to 22. During the restriction period, all essential services, including medical stores, hospitals and other services listed under the category will continue to function like before. District Disaster Management Committee meeting was held this morning when the decision of extending lockdown wa taken, said  Municipal Commissioner Kailas Jadhav.

In Nashik district, the second wave of Corona 48 people died due to COVID-19 on Sunday. The positivity rate had also gone up to forty per cent. Although it has now come down to 26 to 28 per cent, the number of patients has come down slightly. The state government imposed restrictions from April 5. After that, strict restrictions were imposed again from April 22. But people continue to violate covid rules. Therefore, in the meeting held at the Collectorate office today, after discussing all these issues, a decision was taken to impose 12 to 22 strict lockdown.

The lockdown restrictions in Nashik will come into effect from May 12 and will end on May 22. During the restriction period, all essential services, including medical stores, hospitals and other services listed under the category will continue to function like before. 

According to Municipal Commissioner Kailas Jadhav, private establishments will also be closed during the ten-day lockdown. All types of markets will also be closed, although only grocery and other essentials shops are allowed to remain open until 12 noon. Also no one can get out without a medical reason.
