A new controversy has erupted over the disco lighting done by the Archaeological Department at Raigad Fort in Maharashtra on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti.

Controversy has erupted over lighting done at Raigad fort on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti. MP Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje expressed his disappointment over the lighting done at the fort.

The leader took to Twitter and wrote,"The Archaeological Survey of India has got lighting installed at Raigad Fort, ostensibly to celebrate Shiv Jayanti falling on 19th of February. The effort is grotesque, cheap and an abuse of the great legacy which is marked by simplicity and rational approach. It is a sad day for the ASI that its officers have become so insensitive to the character of great historical sites, by using lighting that make this pious monument look like a discotheque. As a Shivbhakt I’m deeply anguished!!"

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has also expressed his displeasure and said lighting done at Raigad fort is ignorance of enthusiastic people.
