AR Rahman's real name was Dilip Kumar. He was born in a Hindu family. When his sister fell ill as a child, a Sufi saint cured her. After this incident, he accepted Islam and AR Rahman was born.

A special thing about him is that Rahman never wanted to enter the music industry. He actually wanted to be a computer engineer.

AR Rahman disclosed a shocking fact in his autobiography Notes of the Dreams. Until the age of 25, he considered himself a failure. Thoughts of suicide always came to his mind.

AR Rahman is so popular that a street in Canada is named after AR Rahman. In 2013, this street in Markham, Ontario, Canada was named Allah Rahman Street.
