The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again asserted its dominance in Chhattisgarh by securing a majority in municipal corporations, Nikay Chunav, and nagar panchayats. Mirroring the outcome of the assembly elections, Congress suffered a significant defeat across the state. The results indicate that the BJP has firmly established its presence at every level of governance. Congress candidate Vinaysheel Gupta defeated BJP’s Sudbal Ram Yadav by 81 votes.Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Raman Singh stated that the BJP is leading in 10 municipalities and is likely to secure 80% of the seats in Raipur Corporation. The party also secured a major victory in Ambikapur, where BJP mayoral candidate Manjusha Bhagat defeated Congress’ Ajay Tirkey by 5,000 votes.
