The Congress on Monday released its first list of 87 candidates for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation election 2026 after finalising an alliance with the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. The list includes candidates from key areas such as Colaba, Mumbadevi, Malabar Hill, Byculla, Versova, Andheri, Goregaon, Kurla, Kalina, Chembur, Dharavi, Mahim, Mulund, Bhandup, Ghatkopar, Mankhurd–Shivaji Nagar and Malad.The alliance between the Indian National Congress and the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi was formally sealed on Sunday. Under the seat-sharing arrangement the VBA will contest 62 of the 227 BMC seats while the Congress will field candidates in the remaining 165 wards.
