If you have made a plan to travel to any part of India, the first thing you should check is whether there is a train facility or not. Rail travel is considered to be the cheapest and most accessible in India.

The railway network in the country is more than 67,000 km. This makes India the fourth largest railway network in the world. Thousands of trains run across the country every day and rail travel is not for any one class but for every man.

Today we are going to tell you about a train that has the shortest train journey in the country. Not only this, this train runs for only 3 km. Isn't it surprising to hear..but it's true. The shortest railway line in the country runs from Nagpur to Ajni in Maharashtra.

But if you want to do this 3 km train journey, passengers have to pay Rs. 1255 for it. According to travel website, Nagpur to Ajni train journey is 9 minutes. The general class ticket for this journey is Rs.60.

Sleeper class fare is Rs 175. AC 3 class fare is 555 rupees, AC 2 ticket is 760 rupees and AC 1 ticket is 1255 rupees. There is another interesting thing at Ajani railway station.

All the employees working here are women. A total of 22 women employees are posted at Ajni railway station. They include 6 professional clerks, 4 ticket inspectors, 4 porters, 4 sweepers and 3 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel including the station master.

Many trains stop at this station for about 2 minutes. This station is mainly used by the residents of Nagpur Central, West, South-West on a daily basis. The last stop at Nagpur is more than 80 percent empty.

Matunga station in Mumbai and Gandhinagar station in Jaipur had more female staff before Ajni railway station which has the most female staff.
