The country is preparing for a major shift in the military recruitment process. A rule will be applied for military recruitment. The Indian Army, Air Force and Navy will now be recruited under the Tour of Duty.

Under the scheme, it is proposed to amend the new system to enlist in the three security forces of the Indian Army. According to media reports, discussions are underway on the final schedule of the Tour of Duty. It offers some new suggestions.

A proposal has been made to make major changes in the military recruitment process. According to the new rules, the army will be recruited for 4 years. After that, all will be retired. But 25 percent of these employees will be shortlisted for full service again.

The final draft of the Tour of Duty plan has been discussed and may be announced soon. The recruitment process will be for the three forces in the Indian Army - Army, Air Force and Navy. The new recruitment process can now be announced on any day.

The proposed rules for military recruitment will be changed. Initially, during the Tour of Duty, citizens of the country were asked to enlist in the army for 3 years. But now after 4 years of service, they will be retried.

Full service for pension and fixed salary will not be accepted for those who enlist in the army under the Tour of Duty. So it is possible to save a large amount. According to sources, some of the posts in the three parties will be exceptions.

The average age of soldiers in the army is 35-36 years. But after the implementation of the Tour of Duty in 4-5 years, the average age of soldiers will be 25-26. Also, the amount spent on pensions of junior commissioned officers and other rank officers is higher.

Due to the Corona epidemic, recruitment in the army has not been possible in the last two years. There is a shortage of officers and staff in all three security forces. There are 12.12 lakh soldiers in the army but 81,000 posts are vacant. Similarly, there are 7,000 vacancies in the Air Force and 12,000 vacancies in the Navy.

This scheme will save crores of rupees every year. According to the information received, the three armies spend Rs 15 lakh crore every year on pensions. It is estimated to cost Rs 1.19 lakh crore in 2022-23.
