There are 12.12 lakh soldiers in the army but 81,000 posts are vacant. Similarly, there are 7,000 vacancies in the Air Force and 12,000 vacancies in the Navy.
This scheme will save crores of rupees every year. According to the information received, the three armies spend Rs 15 lakh crore every year on pensions. It is estimated to cost Rs 1.19 lakh crore in 2022-23.
