The results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be declared today, with vote counting for Maharashtra's seats starting at 8 am. Initial trends are expected within the first few hours. According to exit polls, the NDA is projected to secure 32-35 seats, including 20-23 for the BJP. The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc is predicted to win 15-18 seats, with Congress likely to get 6-8 of those. The NDA is anticipated to have a 48% vote share, while the INDIA bloc is expected to have 40%.This election saw a contest between two major alliances in Maharashtra: the ruling Mahayuti, which includes the BJP, NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and the MVA or Maha Vikas Aghadi, comprising Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress. Within the Mahayuti, the BJP contested 28 seats, the Shinde faction 14, and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP 5 seats. The MVA allocated 21 seats to Shiv Sena (UBT), 17 to Congress, and 10 to the NCP (SP). Maharashtra, with a total of 48 Lok Sabha seats, voted in three phases and recorded a voter turnout of 61.33%.
