Drought had plagued Maharashtra for the last 4 decades. The people of the state had to face various problems like crop failure, drought, lack of drinking water. Actor Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao recognized this problem and decided to work in this field.
This crisis on human beings is caused by their own actions. Climate change has led to a proliferation of water and other natural resources. Experts say that water conservation, water management and environmental rehabilitation can be used to overcome this crisis.
For this, Aamir Khan went to the villages of the state and brought the villagers together and performed a miracle to bring about change. Through the Pani Foundation, the team of Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao undertook the task of creating a water revolution in the state. A large number of people came together and formed a movement.
The Pani Foundation was established with the aim of making Maharashtra drought free and prosperous by giving more space to solutions and technology through the unity of the people. From 2016 to 2019, a competition called Satyamev Jayate Water Cup was held. The competition was organized to improve soil and water conservation.
The competition provided an opportunity for the villagers to solve the problem of drought in a very positive atmosphere by bringing people together at the village level. Many villages participated in the competition and contributed a lot through labor and training.
Due to this work done through Pani Foundation, with the help of the villagers participating in the Satyamev Jayate competition in the last 4 years, 550 billion liters of water storage capacity has been created in the state. For the training conducted by Pani Foundation, 5 participants were sent from each of the participating villages.
The experiment started in 2016 in the state. This work took the form of a movement. The Pani Foundation was conceived and founded by actor Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao. The water conservation works of Pani Foundation benefited the entire state and solved the water problem of many villages.
But today, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, the founders of Pani Foundation, have decided to separate after 15 years of marriage. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao have announced their divorce through a joint statement.
The decision to separate Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao has come as a shock to many. The two had very good chemistry. Why did they decided to divorce? Many fans have been questioning this online. But more importantly, what will happen to the Paani foundation now?
In a joint statement the couple said,"We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does. We remain devoted parents to our son Azad, who we will nurture and raise together. We will also continue to work as collaborators on films, Paani Foundation, and other projects that we feel passionate about. A big thank you to our families and friends for their constant support and understanding about this evolution in our relationship, and without whom we would not have been so secure in taking this leap. We request our well wishers for good wishes and blessings, and hope that - like us - you will see this divorce not as an end, but as the start of a new journey."
